Left Burr Ridge at 7:30 a.m. as it's a LONG day. It's in the 40's and sunny. Grabbed some toast and left.
About 9:30 a.m., we stopped at a toll oasis to grab something at McDonald's. We got caught in a truck jam in the parking lot! Trucks were double-parked and everywhere. Finally got out and back on the road.
Paid another toll on I-88. This time it was $5.35! I wanted to register a protest this time, but I didn't!
The next toll was $2.85 on I-90. Not quite so bad.
Rolled into Wisconsin at 10:35 a.m.
Gas again just outside Eau Claire. 25.890 gallons at $3.399 per gallon. Over 350 miles today!
We got to a nice campground in Chippewa Falls. We stayed right off Tony Stewart Street! We also met a very nice couple from Covington, TN. Steve and Elizabeth invited us to sit out with them and we had a great time.
Tried a new recipe for carrots, cooked some fish, and rice. Watched a little TV, but turned in quickly.
Shopping on the schedule tomorrow!
